Connecticut’s largest World Tai Chi Day event Postponed Due to Covid 19
For the seventh straight year, Connecticut’s largest World Tai Chi & Qigong Day event will be held on the beautiful Colchester Town Green. This year’s event will be held Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 AM to 3:00PM. “Our goal this year is to reach even more of those people unfamiliar with these two ancient Chinese arts and give them the opportunity to understand more about the health and healing benefits associated with them. Last year’s event was such a resounding success that we wanted to return to Colchester again this year” says a former event organizer, George Hoffman of Silver Dragon Tai Chi in Coventry.
Our event, and others like it, is part of the global World Tai Chi Healing Wave that starts in New Zealand and migrates around the world with celebrations beginning at 10:00 AM in every time zone. Last year’s World Tai Chi Day saw celebrations in 70 countries on 6 continents and in hundreds of cities in the US and around the world.
We’ll start with a mass Qigong (Chinese energy healing technique) exercise at 10:00 AM. We invite Connecticut and local residents to join us for a day of FREE workshops and demonstrations presented by more than 17 local tai chi and qigong teachers and masters. A schedule of 24 workshops, multiple demonstrations and the mass qigong exercise will offer something for everyone, from the merely curious to the experienced practitioner. Additional contributors this year include Grandmaster Jiang Jian-ye of Capital District Tai Chi & Kung Fu in Albany, NY, and Master Malee Khow of Malee’s School of Tai Chi & Kung Fu of Manchester
Come join us for what we expect to be a day full of fun, education and celebration of these two wonderful ancient Chinese martial and healing arts.
